Slothtrop Music signs The Gorgeous Hussies!

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Madison, WI, May 19, 2009- Slothtrop Music is proud to announce that after a long and lengthy courtship Utah based Alternative Jam band The Gorgeous Hussies have been been added to their roster of Artists. The band was introduced to Slothtrop through the Sonicbids website.

“We are excited to have a band of The Gorgeous Hussies’ caliber on our label”, said Slothtrop Music president Eric Hester, “they represent everything we love about music- great songwriting, exceptional musicianship, and a solid work ethic.”

In a music-scene full of angst and over-production, The Gorgeous Hussies’ atypical take on alternative jam rock is refreshing and infectious as they weave off-the-wall riffs, catchy melodies and danceable beats. John Chatelain, Jordan Olsen, and Ryan Smith, who make up the trio, speak to their audience the best way they know how: solid, melodically focused rock tunes, inspired arrangements, down-to-earth lyrics and clever live improvisation through a unique live performance.

The band is the first group signed to Slothtrop through their new Sonicbids submission system. This system allows Slothtrop to find bands interested in being on their roster with a Sonicbids electronic press kit (EPK). The system is hosted at Sonicbids.com.

“Sonicbids has saved us from storing a ton of paper press kits and CD’s,” says Hester, “it has also allowed us to find some truly great artists that we are excited to know and work with.”

The Gorgeous Hussies will release their debut single for Slothtrop “Pop Chanteuse” in early July with a the full length release to follow in early October.
