Slothtrop Music signs Clay Bell

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Madison, WI, September 29, 2009- After a lengthy courtship Slothtrop Music is proud to announce that former Polygram artist Clay Bell is the newest addition to their Galaxy of Artists. Clay was introduced to Slothtrop through the Sonicbids website.

“We are always pleased to find some amazing lesser known talent through our Sonicbids program”, said Slothtrop Music president Eric Hester, “were even more excited when an established artist expresses an interest in our fledgling little label.”

Mr. Bell is a songwriter and guitarist of remarkable skill from Northern California who has enjoyed a wide variety of success in his career. He performs what Billboard Magazine calls, “Smart Powerpop” and, Unsigned Music Magazine raved about his CD ‘she and i’ comparing the songwriting to Bob Dylan mixed with the feel good vibe of the Monkees.

Mr. Crane is the third artist signed to Slothtrop through their new Sonicbids submission system. This system allows Slothtrop to find bands interested in being on their roster with a Sonicbids electronic press kit (EPK). The system is hosted at Sonicbids.com.

Clays upcoming October release on Slothtrop records “Above the Heavens and Moonlight” is a stripped down affair mostly featuring Clay’s beautiful voice and his stellar guitar playing. Produced by Clay and Shea Scott and recorded in gorgeous analog at Scott’s Klickitat Band Camp in Portland, Oregon this CD is an intimate look into the heart of songwriting and a strong example of how effective and affecting great songs can be.
