Madison, WI, September 17, 2009- Slothtrop Music is proud to announce that San Francisco based lo-fi singer/songwriter Perrin Crane is the newest addition to their Galaxy of Artists. The band was introduced to Slothtrop through the Sonicbids website.

“Perrin’s an amazing songwriter”, said Slothtrop Music president Eric Hester, “and while not nearly enough folks have heard of him yet, we’re going to do everything we can to change that.”

Perrin Crane has been a musician all his life. He has played in bands from the West to East Coast and back again. He has been influenced by many artists including, but not limited to, The Beatles, Nirvana, Neil Young, and a raging case of clinical depression. Perrin is dedicated to bringing melody back into music, and is gifted with all sorts of instrumentation.

Mr. Crane is the second artist signed to Slothtrop through their new Sonicbids submission system. This system allows Slothtrop to find bands interested in being on their roster with a Sonicbids electronic press kit (EPK). The system is hosted at Sonicbids.com.

“Sonicbids has saved us from storing a ton of paper press kits and CD’s,” says Hester, “it has also allowed us to find some truly great artists that we are excited to know and work with.”

Perrin Crane will release his debut CD “A Big Long Look” for Slothtrop in mid October.

Well it took us a few days longer then we thought but we’re back up and running again!

We discovered over the long weekend that someone had exploited a hole in the wordpress software we use to run our blog and had hacked into our new server. We are hard at work on the situation and will keep you updated. The entire site should be back up and running now, we are working on repairing lost information.

So I’m spending the next few days mixing the new Mister Vague CD at Smart Studios here in Madison. It sounds awesome! Look for it stores in early September and on your favorite college radio station in late August.

I am sure some of you noticed but we now own slothtropmusic.com again! For those of you who don’t know we lost slothtropmusic to an unscrupulous domain registration site a couple of years back (never ever use registryfly!). The company who ended up with the site tried unsuccessfully to extort an exorbitant sum for us to get it back. We said no. I guess after a couple of years they gave up (or went out of business) and we got the name back!
